Building My Future Pregnancy Body: A Transformative Health Journey Before the Wedding Ring and our Third Child

I am a mom, registered dietitian, and lactation consultant sharing my journey back to my healthy baby body - long before the wedding ring, the aisle, or even the first official date with my future husband. I have never been married, yet I am profoundly blessed with two healthy sons. My path into motherhood was anything but simple, yet it always seemed to start with one thought. The thought that I would be married with a family and a white picked fence. Life has a way of teaching you that your thoughts are not greater than His thoughts nor are your ways. After the birth of my first son by cesarean section, I nearly lost my life to a hospital-acquired, full-body infection and went home to raise my son on my own with the help of family and friends. With my second son, while the delivery itself was gentler, the world was not. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, isolation, fear, masks, and restrictions surrounded what should have been a sacred bonding experience. Though we left the hospital alive and well in just three days, fear lingered, loneliness took over, and my breastfeeding journey and maternal well-being collapsed under the weight of it all.
Now, as a mother, future wife, and healthcare professional, I am choosing a different path. I am intentionally preparing my whole self—body, mind, and spirit, allowing God to rewrite my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum story His way, the third time around. This is why I am building my healthy baby body now, before he ever puts a ring on it. Journey with me through the victories, the setbacks, and the constant revelations along the way. This blog may even carry us all the way to the day—the day I fully say yes to my healthy baby body and slip into that gorgeous dress when my dear future husband finally puts a ring on it and we move forward to blogging about our wedding day, my pregnancy dress and our marriage story. And yes… I’m so excited about this journey, I’m following my own blog!
